Our Guides

At High Country Ski Guides, we provide our guests with professionally certified, internationally recognized and experience guides (IFMGA / ACMG) who take pleasure in helping you achieve your personal goals. Our guides are certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and are trained in the most current safety standard, mountain rescue and wilderness first aid. On every program you will be guided and instructed by professionals who have many years of working experience in the guiding industry. 

WILL WOODS
Guide

Will lives in Golden BC with his wife and two sons. He has been a part of building and guiding high quality, safe vacations for people in the mountains for over 25 years. In that time he has graduated from Mount Royal College in Calgary with a Bachelors of Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership, Passed the ACMG Ski and Hiking Guide exams, become an Avalanche Professional with the Canadian Avalanche Association, written curriculum and trained instructors for the Outdoor Council of Canada and spent lots and lots of days outside adventuring. He has guided in Australia, Japan, the Canadian Arctic and all over Western Canada. He is passionate about teaching and sharing his love for wild places with others.

IAN KIRSCHNER
Owner/Guide

Ian is an ACMG ski guide living in Golden British Columbia.
He has guided heli skiing, catskiing and ski touring throughout British Columbia and Alberta and has extensive experience as an avalanche technician and ski patroller. He is a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association and works as an instructor on their industry training programs. He has also worked with several media groups including Matchstick Productions, ROME Snowboards and Ride Guide television.
